When you look at the new phone launched by Samsung you could mistake it for an mp3 player. The new Samsung SGH-X830 ‘Mini MP3 Phone’ combines the ease of use of a music player with full phone functionality in a stylish design. The innovative hand set comes with a unique swing-open design. It is slim and narrow in size. In fact skinnier than any other hand set in the market. This blue mobile phone measures an incredibly compressed 84×30x19.9mm and weighs in at a mere 75 grams for light mobility. The Oasis blue color of the phone is quite pleasing to the eye and looks very cool.
Keys
You might find it difficult to text till you get used to the phone. The navigation wheel’s centre button will now pause and resume playback, while pressing the wheel at the top opens the playlist, left and right skip back and forwards between tracks, and pressing the wheel at the bottom opens the music player controls and options. From here you can edit playlists, send files via Bluetooth, set a tune as a ringtone and configure the shuffle and repeat settings. Two buttons on the top edge of the handset let you control music volume. When you open the flap it reveals the key pad . It is very different from all other phones. Since the model is skinny the keys had to accommodated in 2 rows. It might be difficult to use the keypad at first as it is different from other phones.
Design
When this blue mobile phone is closed it functions like a MP3 player with a music player interface that horizontally displays the playlist, equalizer settings and song information. The click wheel navigation gives you hassle-free control of the music functions. The display screen has 262k color TFT LCD display. You can store up to 250 songs with 1 GB space provided. You can also download audio files from CNN or BBC website by podcasting function. The USB 2.0 connection is fast enough to handle large data volumes, and the Music Library organizes downloaded music according to album name, song title, artist and genre for effortless search and playback. It also supports MP3, ACC, ACC+, e-AAC+, WMA file formats.
Camera
This blue mobile phone comes with an inbuilt 1.3 megapixel camera. It has a 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution with video capabilities.
