The family is good enough for you
The families of the not too distant past is oriented around four axes. These axes are not mutually exclusive. Some committed all of them enhanced each other.
People get married for several reasons:
1. Due to social pressure and social norms (the Social dyad)
2. To form a more efficient or synergetic economic unit (the Economic dyad)
3. In pursuit of psychosexual fulfillment (the dyad Psychosexual)
4. To ensure the company's long-term (Dyad company).
Thus we can speak of the following four areas: economic, social, Emotional, Utilitarian (Rational), the private sector and family.
To illustrate how these axes were intertwined, consider the emotional.

In some countries, people still subscribe to ideologies that promote the family as a pillar of society, the basic unit of the national body, a greenhouse in which to raise children for the army, and so on. In short, nowadays society encourages people to marry, because their desire to maximize its economic output. But most people do not see it. They regard the family as a safe emotional haven.
The distinction between past and present may be subtle, but it is not all trivial. In the past, people used to express emotions in ways, ways that are socially dictated, dressed in their beliefs and ideologies on their sleeves so to speak. The family was one of these modes of expression. But in reality, served merely as an economic unit, devoid of any emotional involvement and content.
Today, people are looking for the family for emotional sustenance (romantic love, companionship) and not as a tool to improve their social status and economically. Creating a family and not the way to maximize their utility.
But these new expectations have destabilized the family. Both men and women seek emotional comfort and true partnerships within it and when not available, use your newfound self-sufficiency and liberties and divorce.

Men and women use to look for the family for economic and social support.
